Maynia update, parade

Hi all! Hope you're doing well and staying healthy. I totally forgot to post the rest of my WIP parade! So today I'll show more WIPs and my stitching for Stitchmaynia. Let's go! First up is Kringles by LHN... I stitched to the 17th and stopped. The pattern has 3 dormer windows, I've stitched just the 1. The roof is kicking my butt! The white fence-like stitching is like a widow's walk. I would get tired of doing the roof and would stitch the windows, etc. I will stitch on this during the WIP challenge coming up Summer Solstice. The next project is Midnight Ride.. The fabric is more dk blue gray. I stitched from the center where the bat is up to the witch because I prefer starting at the top. You would think I would have more stitched in 14 days but I found I could only stitch during weekends. Parade time! This bunch of WIPs are from my bday SAL and they haven't been touched since then. In no particular order.. lol This one I'm not too happy with. I may shelv

WIP parade!

Hello! The parade continues. I did start my stitchmaynia piece yesterday and here it is.. This is Kringle by LHN, on a huge piece of 30ct Parisian Gray linen by Access Commodities. It's a coarse-feeling linen that'll hold up well with this big design that is 193w x 232h. The whitish color is snow and the brown is roof. What I have stitched is half of the building! I plan to stitch on Kringles for 15 or 16 days and then switch to the Halloween stitch that I mentioned last post. Parade time! A nice Christmas/Winter scene, the designer is on Etsy. I decided to leave off the border but I'm not sure about the date. I may leave it off too. Next.. Aww, it's my cowboy by Ink Circles, Beau Leggy in the Desert. There's a cactus bush underneath his legs that needs to be stitched and that's it! He's nearly done. Litha by the Primitive Hare. Yep, that is all I have stitched! I still like this pattern so I'll keep it. This is Midnight Manor by Waxing Moon. I want to s

Progress and a WIP parade!

Hi there! Thanks for commenting on the last post! Carol, lots of Arizonans go to San Diego to get out of the heat. I guess we're called Zonies, haha.  How's everyone? We're all good here. I think back in January I mentioned doing a WIP parade and here I am starting it off today. First, here's progress on Bittersweet September by BBD. I erroneously called it Bittersweet Sampler last time.. It's not very big. The called for linen is 32ct but I'm using 36. The alphabet is over 1 except for the W. I have to take breaks from doing the over 1! I have to admit that taking pictures of these WIPs for the parade has me thinking of packing Bittersweet up and stitching on a few WIPs! It's almost the end of April and then Maynia begins, aargh. I just need 28 hour days! Here goes the parade. Listed in no particular order.. Song of the Seasons by LHN, a mystery sampler released, gosh, about 5 years ago? Maybe more? Anyway, it still makes me happy. I need to carve out time

Satin nights and days

Hi all! A month and a few days later, I am back. Spring has sprung in Arizona; I have the door open, heater is off for now, and I am not wearing my jacket. But best of all, I am down to wearing 1 pair of socks and 1 tee to bed! During winter, I wear 2 pairs of socks and a short sleeve tee and a long sleeve tee. It's been pleasant. However, you're not here for my seasonal clothing habits! I have a finish, bday SAL progress, and Maynia plans, so let's get going! First is my finish...Red House by Sheepish Designs.. Here she is and I just love it. I stitched on this the entire month of March. There's a lot of flowers, and other things. Some flowers are satin stitched, hence my title of this post. I just finished last Wednesday. I used a 36ct linen from Dixiesamplar with GAST. The words are the Brethren Blue. I am seeing that Brethren Blue is now available. Here is what I'm stitching now.. Bittersweet Sampler by BBD. I have since added more satin stitched diamonds at the

Hello?!

Hi everyone! I'm back. Sorry I disappeared but I have been stitching. I have 4, yeah 4, finishes and progress. First off here's my progress.. This is 29th December 1925 from myfanny who has an Etsy shop. I don't remember where I saw this but it's so pretty and peaceful, I had to have it. Here's mine.. On 32ct pearl grey linen, a favorite linen. Lots of work stitching all the white! Thankfully all the white floss in the back doesn't show up in the front. All those single stitches in the border are not single stitches! They are all attached, lots of long floss lines in the back. Haha. Here are my finishes now.. Here is Season of Mitts and Mellow Fruitfulness by Goodflora Stitchwort. On a mystery piece of linen. I changed my hate to brown not black like on the chart. I also tweaked his bunny tail. 2014 is when I downloaded this PDF so I'm glad to have it finished. It's a nice pincushion size so that's what it'll become. Next finish is Comfort and J

It's February!

And the days they just keep rolling on. I'm back for my bday SAL update, an actual finish, and news. First of all, this is what we were dealing with.. Snow piling up on my front porch. The total came to about 14 inches. Further up the highway where my daughter lives and works, they had two and a half feet to deal with. Some places up in the hills got 3ft. I missed two days of work. This was last week. Also last week, the USPS lost my package that had floss and fabric for the last two days of my bday SAL!! So I just stopped and decided to stitch on a SAL project from the very first day..Boo From the 2014 JCS Halloween issue. It's not a big piece. Off it goes to the FFO pile! So here is where I wanted to explain my blogaversary giveaway and my favorite things. Ten items for 10 years. Carol has received her package and she shows it on her newest blog post. So here we go.. I love With Thy Needle and Thread designs and so does Carol. The 32ct fabric that went with it is a favorite o

Getting there!

Hi all! I'm back for my bday SAL update. It ends on the 29th which is my bday. Just 5 more new starts to go! I'm amazed that I've kept up. Let's get to the pictures! I left off on the Ewe & Eye & Friends last post. No pictures because all I stitched was a row of the border. It calls for the four-sided stitch but who's got time for that?! So that border will be just regular stitches. Next up.. This is Toil and Trouble by LK. I cannot find the chart for this. It's here in this house somewhere. On a leftover piece of linen using overdyed floss. Next... Warm Wishes from an older JCS ornament issue. I have just that top border stitched. Next is.. The Size of The Gift from the 2016 issue of the JCS ornament mag. On 40ct Helix by PTP. Whew, I know I can't stitch on 40ct too often. I use readers but maybe I need a stronger pair. It's a cute design and should stitch up fast.  Next up.. That is Happy Halloween, from last year's Halloween issue. I just
